The Law of Fraud certificate is designed for technologists and managers who design, implement or monitor within enterprises the internal standards, policies and systems that ensure assets and resources (especially IT resources) are used properly. The certificate focuses on the requirements of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act and other laws related to financial reporting and white collar crime. Students are asked to spot issues, recognize fraud situations, suggest solutions and techniques to detect or minimize fraud and evaluate courses of action in the context of fraud investigations. This is an introductory class to familiarize non-lawyers with laws and practices in the white collar crime area.
