Incident handlers, System administrators, security team members, Software developers, penetration testers, and anyone who has attended SANS Track 4: Hacker Techniques Exploits and Incident Handling or any similar multi-day hacking course that needs an update in the trends, tools and techniques in use today.

The Cutting-Edge Hacking Techniques certificate focuses on the latest tools and techniques used by hackers. The hacker's toolkit is not static; new vulnerabilities and tools are developed at an astounding pace. The candidate will have hands-on experience using the latest techniques and tools at the disposal of the attacker. Candidates will demonstrate in depth understanding of how Google is used in reconnaissance, new scanning techniques, recent Windows attacks, new toolkits, and root kits. Candidates will also be prepared to handle attacks in the new fields of combo-malware, microcode attacks, and polymorphic code.

NOTE: GIAC exams are NOT given the day after the conference ends.

Exams are delivered online through a standard web browser. For exams purchased with SANS training, access to the exam will be available 7-10 days following the end of the conference. Standalone challenge exams are issued within 24 hours upon receipt of payment. You will receive an email from GIAC when your exam has been issued to your portal account. You have 120 days to complete the exam from the time we send notice that it is available. The exams are proctored and should be scheduled using our proctored exam procedure.
