Why Small Businesses Need to Secure Their Computers (and How to Do it!)
I'm here to talk to you about computer security - and I don't mean just locking it up in a closet! I'm talking about making sure that the information you keep on your computer(s) is safe, that the only people who see that information are your employees, and making sure that the information is available when they need it. I'm also talking about making sure that no one (make that no hacker) is using your computer to do things that you don't know about. Things that might make you legally liable for someone else's actions. Small businesses are connecting to the Internet like never before. Their computers, therefore, are vulnerable to hacking like never before, too. There are many things that any small business can do to help secure its own computers and prevent them from being used in attacks on others; and these things cost little or no out-of-pocket money. You, the small business person, should not only take these steps to secure your own computers (and the future of your business), but also urge all of the other business people you know to do the same.
